Memorial Day – Deep Respect, Honor, Sacrifice and Loving Memories

Today across our nation, we celebrate Memorial Day. This is a national holiday where we can each honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season. Tim's Gift celebrates Memorial Day with our community. If your loved ones sacrificed their lives for our freedom, we stand with you in honoring their lives and are so thankful for their courage and strength.

“I believe our flag is more than just cloth and ink. It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty, and freedom. It is the history of our nation, and it’s marked by the blood of those who died defending it.”

– John Thune
