Witnessing to Others Along Our Way

How can we lovingly witness to people along our way in a world where many are looking for love in all the wrong places? Witnessing (in a sweet spirit - not pounding and pushing forcefully, but leading like Jesus did sheep He witnessed to - is pleasing to God! Studying His Word and seeking ways to witness - sharing the Light in a dark world - is wise! There is power in the blood and bringing the lost into a loving relationship with the Lord and loved ones!

As you read these Bible verses, may their messages massage your heart with a tenderness to witness along your way.

Mark 16:15 “And he said to them, “GO into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”

1 Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts honor Christ as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and respect.”

Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.”

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy SPirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

2 Timothy 1: 8-12 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in the suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel…”

Matthew 9:38 “Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

1 Peter 3:2 “When they see your respectful and pure conduct!”

King David’s message in the fortieth Psalm will surely set our hearts on fire to witness.

“HE put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.”

When life dulls the light within and diminishes our witness for Him, we must diigest the Word and do the things we did when we first fell in love with the Lord! The same applies to the love of our life (if he/she is still here with us) and family members hungry for ‘the way we were’ before life dealt lemons, leaving us lost in sadness and sorrow. When we lose touch and become disconnected from the Lord and loved ones...witnessing along our way will be hard, even on a good day.

God can minister to others through our personal witness and profound out of the box (boat) ways. When my sister and I traveled home from Illinois after a wonderful graduation weekend for her children, finding a pet friendly hotel seemed impossible. Finally finding a room, we settled in for the night in a beautiful place owned and operated by a Christian family who understood the principle and power of witnessing for the Lord. In each room, they placed precious witnessing cards for their guests to read and remember their stay in a place where the Holy Spirit was right at home.

The card’s message witnessed to me as I hope it does to you.

To Our Guests,

“In ancient times, there was a prayer for “The Stranger within our gates.” Because this hotel is a human institution to serve people and not solely a money making organization, we hope that God will grant you peace and rest while you are under our roof.

May this room and hotel be your “second” home. May those you love be near you in thoughts and dreams. Even though we may not get to know you, we hope that you will be comfortable and happy as if you were in your own home.

May the business that brought you our way prosper. May every all you make and every message you receive add to your joy. When you leave, may your journey be safe.

We are all travelers. From “birth until death” we travel between the eternities. May these days be pleasant for you. Profitable for society, helpful for those you meet, and a joy to those who know and love you best.”

To My Readers,
