WWJD vs. DJWW

Do you know these two acronym meanings? Pete Osborne, a dear friend of Tim's Gift stopped by earlier in the year and shared prayer and encouragement.  He reminded us that Jesus has the victory and the devil has been defeated.  WWJD - this phrase has been around for awhile -What Would Jesus Do?   We talked about the popularity of the acronym and how, like many things kind of faded into the landscape of our lives.  But, truly this is such a daily, decision making thought to keep close to your minds and hearts.  To take a moment and ask yourself "What would Jesus do"?  could save you from going down a path of temptation, decisions with consequences and just plain disobedience.

Then Pete asked if we knew what the acronym means backwards, 'DJWW'?
Sitting there a bit stumped, he helped us out!  "Devil Just Won't Win"!  He is right!  The devil has been defeated through the victory of Jesus Christ who died for each of us.

During this time of shelter in place, messed up schedules, and having to isolate our lives - let us not isolate from each other and from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  The devil indeed is always hunting, finding our weaknesses to work his doubt, fear and anxiety into our lives.

Don't go through this time alone.  Reach out to one another to just check in and let each other know our love for one another remains strong and steadfast. Read, watch, listen to devotions, pastor messages, and pray. We will be blessed as we walk in faith and not by sight!  Bless God!

For we live by faith, not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV
