I am the vine, you are the branch

How strong is your relationship with Jesus Christ these days?  With you as a branch, to Jesus portrayed as the vine, are you fully connected, and have life flowing with faith, grace, mercy, forgiveness and His unconditional love each day?  Does the power of the Holy Spirit reside in you and give you His fruitful gifts each time they are needed? In these days of Covid-19, each of us need the fruits of the Holy Spirit - Kindness, Gentleness, Self-Control, Peace, Joy, Love, Patience, Goodness and Faithfulness to help us deal with all the emotions, decisions and events taking place.

You may be feeling like the branch in the picture above, severed, but still hanging on despite what is being thrown at you.  It will just take one mighty gust to bring you toppling down.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5 NIV

The current severity of this life changing Covid-19 will not be the last storm we go through on this earth.  What can we do to manage and control through this shelter in place time?  Most of us of had to figure out how to adjust to new daily environments and routines. So we faced change, rather abruptly! But, as we know, God is unchanging and with us in EVERY SITUATION. Let us
praise HIM!

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way  and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."  Psalm 46:1-3 NIV

Each morning, make sure your branch is strongly connected to your power source, Jesus! Pray and seek him.  Whatever the day brings, he will be with you to help you move through each decision, activity and event.

"He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress." Psalm 46:10-11 NIV
