Resolutions and Right Living

Have you faithfully prayed for God to guide your steps and give direction in this New Year? Psalm 23:6 gives hope as we, His children, seek help juggling January duties with determination to keep our resolutions and stay in faith..

“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Many of us make New Year resolutions, and most of us break them before January ends. When resolutions are recorded in our hearts and prayed over, they have more staying power when we are tempted to stray. If you haven’t made your resolutions yet, why not do it today?

Resolutions - goals - are important to ponder, pray over, and put in place in our daily routines. We may slip and slide instead of standing firm on ‘the straight and narrow’ as each week rolls into a new month, but we should never give up! Each of the goals we’re going for with gusto and guts can give new joy and add extra years to our lives. So, what are you waiting for? If you haven’t made your list of goals for this year, take time to write them in your journals, blessing books, and most of all in your hearts.

We may not keep every resolution this year, but there is One who will! God keeps every resolution He has ever made. He keeps His promises. He keeps His Word! We may stop working out, keep eating sweets, and beat others up with our tongues - instead of biting them, but God never gives up on us. He keeps coming to us in dreams, heart stirrings, signs, wonders, and ways beyond belief to help us stay closely connected to the Vine. He provides for our lives to be prosperous, purposeful, and ‘Just Fine”...even when we lose direction and leave Him behind!

He longs to see us enjoy a great life as we live out our purpose. The surest way to live out our destiny is to fix our eyes upon the ONE who has promised that goodness and lovingkindness will follow us when we follow HIM! It is time for all His children to embrace right living and unconditional loving as 2021 begins... Amen!
