Falling in Love with Jesus

Have we fallen in love with Christ?  Do we live each day filled with emotion for His love and the good life He has given?  How can we recognize one’s true love for Jesus Christ?

Mark 12:30 states how we are supposed to love the Lord.

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy /god with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind…”

Christ truly touches every area of our lives.  He touches our minds and we are transformed by the renewing of our minds.  The proof that God wants us to use our minds is found in Isaiah 1:18.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord”

When is your favorite time  to talk and reason with God?  Early morning hours, before the sun rises, is my cup of tea  with Thee. Nothing makes me happier than reading, thinking, praying, and enjoying the first hours of a day: just God and me!   It pleases Him and fills us to the brim with blessings  when we take time to walk and talk with Him and tell Him we are HIs own? In those divine meetings with our Creator, we realize there is no greater love than His, the one He bled and died for, the one He longs to share with all His children around the world. As  true love grows, frustration- aggravation - envy  - chaos -  prejudice - pride, -  drama -  even  hatred goes!   Oh, the joy deep down in our hearts we will happily impart when we turn our eyes upon Jesus and a true love with Christ starts!

Now, the time  is nigh to tell of His marvelous love. He told the woman at the well to ‘go and tell’! Why then should we be silent when what the world needs now is ‘love, sweet love’...that’s one important thing there is ‘just too little of’!

Let us show the world how great is our God who loves us so much HE sent His Son to die for our sins.  Our true love for Him will show by how we live and what we do!  It is never out of style or too late to start… being in love with Christ with all our mind, soul, and heart! That agape love flows like a river as we grow closer to our Lord and loved ones.  When our hearts are in tune with The Master of the sea, the Great I Am,  the One who hung the moon in place,  God’s Son who sacrificed His life for you and me...life will be good - even when it seems our world is turned upside down and everywhere we look people are wearing frowns!

The Bible tells us not to wait - for time waits for no one and one day our time here will end.  Taking time to get to know and fall in love with Jesus Christ is when our best life here (and in heaven when our work here ends) will just begin!

A song plays in my mind as this story about being in love with Jesus  is about to end and  tears drip from my freckled chin.  Remembering when I was a little girl standing for the altar call  beside my mother as church services ended , her sweet singing echoes in my heart.  Mother sang loud and clear for all the world and heaven to hear.  I sang softly with wonder in my heart and inklings of a deep love for Jesus about to start. Mother would squeeze my hand to sing  as Daddy’s big arms wrapped me with comfort and a silence that thundered deep inside his little girl’s heart…”Our little Becky Dean- we love you, and Jesus does too.”

That old song seems to be the perfect ending to a story about waiting too late and missing the joy of falling in love with Christ.

“ The Savior is waiting to enter your heart; why don’t you let Him come in? There’s nothing in this world to keep you apart -What is your answer to Him? If you’ll take one step toward the Savior, my friend, You’ll find His arms open wide. Receive Him and all of your darkness will end, within your heart He’ll abide.  Time after time He has waited before, And now He is waiting again...To see if you’re willing to open the door - O how He wants to come in.”

Please don’t delay asking Jesus to come into your hearts and witness a tender, true love story start. Falling in love with Christ will give peace, joy, and blessed assurance of living with Him forever...deep down in your heart!
